Let’s Start This Journey Together
Caitlin Schrage, LCSW
About me and my work
I’m Caitlin and I’m genuinely glad that you’re here.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University in 2009 (emphasis in painting) and my Master of Social Work with a focus on Mental Health from Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015.
For more than 13 years, I’ve worked with adults adults navigating mental health challenges. I bring a strong background in community mental health, with experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. In these roles, I supported and advocated for individuals navigating mental health challenges, housing instability, and substance use issues. Whether I was doing longer-term outpatient counseling or short-term acute inpatient counseling, my focus was on compassionate care.
If you’re feeling low, carrying the burden of trauma, or simply just feeling stuck- I’m here to support you. I am ready to sit with you in whatever you’re going through, to be there to help you process difficult emotions, to help you make sense of of it all.
My hope is to walk alongside you, helping you navigate life’s challenges with more gentleness toward yourself and a little more clarity. Healing is possible. I would be honored to be part of your journey!
About my personal self
I am a Chicago native who found her way to Portland in 2017. I fell in love with the beauty of Oregon- the mountains, the ocean, and the big trees. Life had been about making art and being outdoors.
Today, I am a mom to two little ones, they keep my heart full and my life, well- lively! While a lot has changed, I still deeply value nature, creativity, and connection.
